India's vice-captain for the T20 World Cup 2024, Hardik Pandya has joined the team and is in training ahead of their opening clash against Ireland.

The preparations have begun for the Indian Cricket Team as they now have their eyes locked in for the T20 World Cup 2024 taking place in the West Indies and the United States of America. Rohit Sharma’s men have begun their training and preparations ahead of the T20 showpiece event as they march to ensure they are at their best to help them grab their second title.

As part of the first group of players to make the travel to the USA, the skipper Rohit Sharma along with the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav and many others along with the head coach Rahul Dravid had arrived in New York a few days ago and are now in training ahead of their opening game against Ireland on June 5.

Leading the pace attack, Jasprit Bumrah revealed on his official Instagram handle, photos of the team training. He along with the rest of the squad members is seen jogging around.

Suryakumar Yadav had also shared a post on his Instagram handle where he was also seen training with the group. He was seen playing some football and was seen taking part in a huddle as well.

Another big addition to the squad is that of Hardik Pandya. The all-rounder revealed on his official handle on X (formerly known as Twitter) that he has joined the squad and has begun his training ahead of the T20 show piece.

Under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, the Indian team have yet another chance to secure silverware after the crushing loss in the finals against Australia in the ODI World Cup that took place at home.

The Indian team will be looking to play a similar brand of cricket where they managed to dominate on all fronts as they will be eyeing their second T20 World Cup. Ever since the inaugural edition of the tournament, India has been unable to reclaim the title.

In the last T20 World Cup that took place in Australia, India suffered a brutal loss against the eventual champions England in the semi-finals where the English side managed to take the win by 10 wickets.

However, the current Indian team will look to improve on that and go all the way to mark the first trophy under the leadership of Rohit Sharma.
