'Let's Shape The Future': Suryakumar Yadav Urges People to Vote in Lok Sabha Elections 2024

Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav cast his vote during the fifth phase of the ongoing Lok Sabha polls. On Monday, May 20, elections took place in six major constituencies in Mumbai – Mumbai North, Mumbai North Central, Mumbai Northwest, Mumbai North East, Mumbai South Central and Mumbai South. Besides these, seven other constituencies in Maharashtra are also part of the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections. Surya urged the citizens of India to use their voting rights in order to help in building a better future. Upon returning from the polling booth, the 33-year-old shared a picture of himself on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) flaunting the indelible ink marked on his finger.

Suryakumar Yadav shared the picture on X along with a caption that read, “Let’s shape the future of our nation by casting our vote today.” The post was able to catch the attention of many fans, who appreciated Surya for underlining the importance of each and every vote in the development of the country. One user wrote in the comment section, “Happy to see you voted for the prosperity of the nation.”

A fan wished Suryakumar Yadav good luck for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, beginning on June 2. “Best of luck, Mr 360, for the upcoming T20 World Cup,” wrote the person.

Besides Suryakumar Yadav, other members of the Indian cricket fraternity who live in Mumbai cast their votes in the fifth phase. Ajinkya Rahane shared a picture with his wife and the couple was proudly showing their inked fingers as well. “We did our duty. Have you?” Rahane wrote in the caption.

Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar was also spotted at a polling station in Mumbai along with his son Arjun Tendulkar. After casting his vote, Tendulkar smilingly posed with some officers of the booth. The video was shared by the news agency ANI on X.

Speaking about Suryakumar Yadav, the middle-order batter has recently wrapped up his Indian Premier League (IPL) campaign with Mumbai Indians. The five-time champions failed to showcase their A-game this season and were eliminated from the league stage. Surya will next be seen in action when Team India clashed against Bangladesh for a warm-up game ahead of the T20 World Cup on June 1. The Men in Blue will play their opening game of the tournament against Ireland on June 5.
