The West Indies pace sensation Shamar Joseph seems to be in good spirits as the Lucknow Super Giants take on the Punjab Kings in their first home game of the season.

Ahead of their upcoming match against Punjab Kings, Lucknow Super Giants’ Shamar Joseph was seen enjoying himself while training for their next game. The franchise will be eager to get their first points of the season as they are set to feature in their first home game.

In a video uploaded on LSG’s official Instagram handle, the West Indies pace sensation was seen taking a piggyback ride with his team-mate, Prerak Mankad as the two were seen having a bit of banter during the training session.

Joseph is yet to make his debut for the franchise. He managed to gain a reputation after a match-winning performance in the national team where he picked up seven wickets to secure a historic Test win for the West Indies against Australia at the Gabba.

The franchise roped in the young star in place of their English express pacer, Mark Wood who had opted out of the tournament citing workload management.

In this season, LSG has started the tournament with a loss against the Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur. The side’s bowling attack seemed to be very weak as they did not start the season well. Only Krunal Pandya was able to produce economical figures having conceded just 19 runs in his four overs.

They will look to pick up their first points of the season as they take on PBKS in their first home of the season which takes place at the Ekana Sports City, Lucknow.

The addition of Joseph could prove to be a massive boost to the playing XI as he can bring in his quick deliveries which can go around the 140-150 kph range. This is something that is lacking within the current side and could be something the side looks at.
