Team India got off to a good start to the fifth and final Test of the ongoing series against England at Dharamshala on Thursday as the home side bundled out the Englishmen for 218 runs on the opening day of the fixture.
Indian wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel made his presence on the field count with an incredible piece of glovework following some sharp anticipation of English batter Ollie Pope’s movement at the crease, which led to his stumping.

England won the toss and opted to bowl as Indian spinners starred with ten wickets split between Kuldeep Yadav, who claimed 5 wickets, Ravichandran Ashwin, who bagged 4 scalps and Ravindra Jadeja, who picked 1.
Left-arm spinner Kuldeep worked his magic to get India the breakthrough as he got rid of Ben Duckett after the English opener had made 27 runs thanks to Shubman Gill’s safe pair of hands. Pope was next to fall as Kuldeep foxed the Englishman with his turner and Jurel followed through with a brilliant thumping to send him packing.
Zak Crawley, the only Englishman to cross the half-century mark on the day with his 79 runs was also removed by Kuldeep as the Indian castled the English opener. Bairstow was the leggie’s next victim as he was dismissed for 29 runs before Jadeja got his scalp with the dismissal of Joe Root for 26 runs.
Kuldeep completed his fifer with the removal of English skipper Ben Stokes before Ashwin took control to wipe out the opposition tail with the dismissal of Tom Hartley, Mark Wood, Ben Foakes and James Anderson, while Shoib Bashir remained unbeaten on 11 runs as the English first innings was wrapped up for 218.
Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal came out to bat and made a 50-plus stand for the opening wicket as the skipper and the left-hander made an electric start to the hosts first innings at the picturesque cricket stadium in Dharamshala.
