Superstar Rajinikanth’s recent theatrical release Jailer has shattered the box office with its blockbuster numbers. The film has broken several records and has made its spot in the list of highest-grossing films. Despite having tough competition with Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 and Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2, the film minted around Rs 600 crore at the ticket counter.
Jailer has also become the highest-grossing Indian film in Malaysia. The news was confirmed by an international distributor on Social media.
Ayangaran International which is the distribution and production company which distributed the film internationally took to X, (formerly Twitter) to announce the news with a poster of Jailer featuring Rajinikanth. The text embedded in the poster reads, “Historic, Jailer Collection highest among Indian films in Malaysia.”
Without revealing the exact numbers, the distributor penned the note in the tweet, “And the record-breaking continues, we are proud to announce that Jailer has grossed the highest collection in Malaysia among all Indian films by a HUGE margin. A never before in history moment.”

According to entertainment tracker Sacnilk, Jailer has earned Rs 403.6 crore gross at the domestic box office while it minted around Rs 196 crore overseas, taking the total worldwide collection to Rs 599.6 crore.
Currently, Jailer is the second highest-grossing Tamil film of all time. The list is topped by S Shankar’s science-fantasy action film 2.0 which also starred Rajinikanth in the lead. It earned Rs 723.30 crore at the global box office.
Jailer was written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. Apart from Rajinikanth, the action thriller features Kannada star Shivarajkumar, Malayalam actor Mohanlal and Bollywood’s Jackie Shroff. Tamannaah Bhatia also plays an extended cameo in the film.
For those who missed the film in the theatres, Jailer is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video in multiple languages.
