While India has officially entered its festival season, IndiGo Airlines has unveiled a new promotional package, ‘Add-ons Fiesta,’ which offers passengers a flat 20 per cent discount on select travel add-ons for a month-long period. At a time when airlines are expected to get busier than normal days with people heading home for festivals or holidays, the offer aims to provide more benefits amid the soaring airfares.
The promotion can be availed of by making bookings through the airline’s website or mobile app until September 30, 2024. It is available on both domestic and international flights on a range of services like excess baggage, seat selection, priority check-in, and meal combinations.
IndiGo’s Add-ons Fiesta
1. Seat Selection – Passengers can choose a window, aisle, or extra legroom seat to customise their flight experience.
2. Baggage Options –

– Additional Piece: Passengers can add more baggage at a low cost by booking online in advance.
– Sports Equipment Handling: You can pay handling fees upfront for sports equipment to ensure extra protection.
– Fast Forward: Enjoy quicker check-in and flexible boarding to minimise waiting times.

Besides IndiGo, other airlines like Vistara and Air India are also known for offering festive discounts during these seasons. Earlier, Vistara’s Freedom Sale offered one-way domestic flights from a starting range of Rs 1,578, while Air India Express offered as low as Rs 1,037 in August.
According to PTI, airfares are expected to witness a rise for the festival season, with the average one-way ticket price going up by 10-15 per cent for Diwali and even more for certain flights to Kerala during Onam. “Popular routes like Delhi-Chennai, Mumbai-Bengaluru, and Delhi-Hyderabad are seeing average one-way fares ranging between Rs 4,000-5,000, marking a 10-15 per cent Y-o-Y increase as the festival approaches,” said Ixigo’s co-CEO Rajnish Kumar. He also said that the travel demand for Onam festivities has already surged for the current year, with flight bookings for Kerala doubling.
