Citadel: Honey Bunny boasts of a riveting narrative that fuses the pulse-pounding elements of a gritty spy action thriller with the heartwarming allure of a love story, all set against the vibrant tapestry of the ’90s. Honey Bunny is the Indian series within the Citadel universe. Prime Video India dropped the trailer at a grand event today. The show’s leads – Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Varun Dhawan – were also present. It has been written by Raj and DK and Sita R. Menon. Apart from Varun and Samantha, it stars Kay Kay Menon, Simran, Soham Majumdar, Shivankit Singh Parihar, Kashvi Majmundar, Saquib Saleem, and Sikandar Kher in pivotal roles.
Speaking of being a part of the series, Samantha said, “I never would have imagined that I would do action. But today, for me, being at this event is already such a victory for me, because the last moment I didn’t really think I could do it. I didn’t think I would be a part of citadel. I’m extremely grateful to Raj, DK, Sita and Amazon for really coming to my rescue. I just had to prep physically. I am just so incredibly proud already that this is the way it is, this is the way it looks. I can’t believe – this is how it looks.” Karan Johar then said, “Both you and Varun have literally owned it.”
Varun and Samantha shot for the show in Serbia. While the team is remained tight-lipped about Citadel India for the longest time, Priyanka Chopra had opened up about it and revealed that the storylines are connected to each other. PeeCee headlined the American version of the show. She mentioned that she cannot wait to see Raj and DK’s work and appreciated the filmmakers saying, “Raj and DK are so amazing, so talented and they’ll bring their own spin to the Indian installment. So, I’m very excited.”
