Rani Mukerji Opens Up About Her Miscarriage During The Pandemic: 'It Is Traumatic For Me Because...'
Rani Mukerji talked about her miscarriage during the pandemic and the reason why it feels traumatic.

Rani Mukerji and Aditya Chopra are one of the most loved and adorable couples in the industry. They have been married for a long time and are also doting parents to their only daughter Adira. In her recent interview, the actress opened up about her traumatic miscarriage that happened during the pandemic, right before she signed for Mrs Chatterjee V/s Norway. She also expressed that it is traumatic since she can’t give a sibling to Adira.

Speaking with Galatta India, Rani shared, “I tried for my second baby for seven years. My daughter is 8 years old now. Immediately after her, I tried for my second baby. I kept trying. I finally got pregnant, and then I lost the baby. Obviously, it was a testing time for me.”

She continued, “It’s not an age where I can have another baby. And it is traumatic for me that I can’t give a sibling to my daughter. That really pains me. But then I think that we really have to be always grateful for what we have and what we don’t. For me, Adira is my miracle child. And I’m really happy that I have her because I look at parents who are struggling to have even that one baby. So I feel I have to be grateful for what I have. It’s a saying, but to actually work on it and believe that you’ve to be grateful for what you have, it takes a lot of courage. To just be content with what you have. So I’m working on it. I’m telling myself that yes, Adira is enough.”

Rani and Aditya tied the knot in 2014 and are parents to one daughter, Adira. Last year, the actress was a speaker at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne where she revealed that she was pregnant in 2020 but had a miscarriage. She said that she lost the baby five months into her pregnancy

As quoted by Business Today, Rani Mukerji said, “Maybe this is the first time I am making this revelation because, in today’s world, every aspect of your life is discussed publicly, and becomes an agenda for talking about your film to get more eyeballs. Obviously, I didn’t speak about this when I was promoting the film because it would have come across as me trying to speak about a personal experience that would propel the film…so, it was around the year when COVID-19 struck. It was 2020. I got pregnant with my second baby at the end of 2020 and I unfortunately lost my baby five months into my pregnancy.”

On the work front, she was last seen in the film Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway, which was based on a true story.
