R Madhavan Reviews Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone's Fighter, Calls It An 'Extraordinary' Film

Ever since its release, Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone’s Fighter has been getting an overwhelming response from the audience. Recently, R Madhavan also took to his X handle and praised the Siddharth Anand directorial. He called Fighter an “extraordinary” movie and added that it is an example of “international Indian cinema”.

“What an extraordinary film #Fighter is …with brilliant work by all concerned … Take a bow the entire cast and crew.. you guys have given Indian cinema a fantastic, super motivating, moving, and an archival film. This is simply going to be a hallmark of how truly international Indian cinema has become today,” Madhavan wrote.

Reacting to the praises, Siddharth Anand also expressed gratitude towards The Railway Men actor and wrote, “Maddy! Thank you man for your kindest words. The team will be so happy for this recognition, especially from an artiste of your calibre! Means a lot.”

Released on January 25, Fighter is getting a positive response from the audience. The film has already over Rs 134 crore in India. News18 gave the film a 4-star rating and said, “Phenomenally entertaining and consistently engaging, Fighter, for all the derivative genre components it compiles, is an action entertainer that crackles with energy.”

“Like the quintessential entertainer, Fighter serves up a little bit of everything in its narrative — action, drama, music, romance, and even emotions. The screenplay makes room for every commercial movie element. Fighter is a perfect popcorn entertainment thriller that plays to the gallery and lives up to the hype,” the review added.

Fighter has a run time of 2 hours and 46 minutes. The Central Board of Film Certification granted a U/A certification to the film. Besides Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, the film stars Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, Akshay Oberoi, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Talat Aziz, Pradum Shukla, and Pradum Jaykar in pivotal roles. The film marks Hrithik and Deepika’s third film with Siddharth Anand. Hrithik previously worked with the filmmaker in Bang Bang and War. Deepika had worked with him in Bachna Ae Haseeno and Pathaan.
