The former Miss India had a promising Bollywood debut in 2005 and went on to give many hits, before starting her spiritual journey. Tanushree Dutta started her career in the entertainment industry in 2003 when she won the Femina Miss India title in Mumbai. She then went on to represent the country for the Miss Universe title in Ecuador, where she ended up as the sixth runner-up.

She made her debut in Bollywood with the film Aashiq Banaya Aapne in 2005. In the film, Tanushree was seen alongside Emraan Hashmi and Sonu Sood. It was directed by Aditya Datt, and produced by Balabhai Patel under the banner of Shagun Film Creations. The actress gained a lot of attention for her intimate scenes with co-star Emraam Hashmi, in the film, which went on to become a commercial success.
