During a religious ceremony at Kalkaji temple in Delhi, a tragic incident occurred as a platform collapsed on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. Sadly, one woman lost her life, and 17 others sustained injuries. The injured individuals have been hospitalized, and their condition is said to be stable. The event, where the mishap took place, also featured a performance by singer B Praak. The singer has now broken his silence over it.
In a video, he said, “Bahut hee dukh huya. Bahut hee mayus hoon main. Kyunki pehli baar aisa dekha. Jinko bhi chotey aayi hai, main umeed karta hoon ke woh sab thik ho. Management ne waha logo ko bahut samajhaya bhi ke aap peeche ho jayiye. Par yeh aap sab logo ka Ma ke liye pyaar hai, mere liye pyaar hai. Humein aage se dhyaan rakhna hai – bachho ka, buzurgo ka, sabhi logo ka. Kyun ki jaan se badh kar kuch nahi hai iss duniya, kuch nahi ho sakta. Bahut dukhi mann hai mera aj. Aisa kabho hona nahi chahiye tha (I am very saddened. I am very disheartened. Because I have seen something like this for the first time. For anyone who got injured, I hope they all get well soon. The management also requested the audience to move back. But it was love for Ma from all of you, your love for me. But, we need to be careful in the future – for children, for the elderly, for everyone. Because nothing is more important than life in this world, nothing can ever be. My heart is very heavy today. Such a thing should never have happened).”
As per the police, the incident happened when an elevated platform, constructed with wood and an iron frame, collapsed near the main stage. This platform was intended for seating the families of organisers and VIPs during a ‘Mata Jagran’ at Mahant Parisar in Kalkaji Mandir.
